JotD, 4/3/2013
I can’t help it; I’m loving this. It’s the new Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne joint. Here’s “High School” (soon to chart, 2013).
JotD, 3/16/2013
This one goes out to JotD’s boy, Weezy. Get better, bro.
Here’s Lil Wayne with an early hit, “Go DJ” (#14, 2004).
Lil Wayne ft. Drake & Future – “Love Me”
JotD, 12/31/2012
Hope everyone is having a rockin’ New Year’s Eve. Here’s JotD’s official party song of the night. Careful, it’s a dirty one.
This is Juicy J ft. Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz with “Bandz a Make Her Dance” (#29, 2012).
Fat Joe ft. Lil Wayne, A$AP Rocky & French Montana – “Yellow Tape”
Lil Wayne’s new mixtape, Dedication 4, dropped earlier today. I’d like to say I’m excited to listen, but after all that mess about Nicki Minaj’s political leanings, I’m less interested. Download it for free here. In addition to Minaj, Young Jeezy, J. Cole and Birdman make appearances.
Drake – “Take Care” & “HYFR”
His Jamie xx/Gil Scott-Heron-sampling hit with Rihanna is above; the Lil Wayne collabo is below — both released this evening.
Nicki Minaj ft. Lil Wayne > “Roman Reloaded”
After hearing the title track (and a bunch of other tracks from her 2nd album), I’m officially declaring this a sophomore slump. Not excited about this.

Drake ft. Lil Wayne & Tyga – “The Motto”
Befitting, as Drizzy and Weezy led our Jams of 2011 list artists with four nods each.
Birdman ft. Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne – “Y U Mad”
Nicki shines brightest yet again on this new collaborative rap track. Maybe she *is* the female Lil Wayne, as advertised.
One of JotD’s favorite soulstresses, 15-time Grammy nominee Betty Wright, is putting out a new album entirely written and performed with the Roots (seriously, do these guys even sleep?). The 14-track LP, called Betty Wright: The Movie, features Snoop Dogg, Joss Stone and even Lil Wayne. In fact, here you can give a listen to the Weezy track, called “Grapes on a Vine.”
Look for this album next week.
Justin Timberlake wannabe Robin Thicke has exactly two great songs: his sex-drenched classic “Lost Without U” and “Shooter”, a 2006 collaboration with Lil Wayne from Tha Carter II. Five years later the duo are back at it again on a new Thicke single called “Pretty Lil’ Heart.” Verdict? It’s his biggest JT ripoff ever, but it’s aiiiight, I guess. The son of Alan’s new album, Love After War, drops December 6.
