Spin tells us everything they know about what is sure the strangest album of 2012, due out in December. Can Ke$ha pull off something with surprising integrity, or is this just going to be one strange, hot mess? Your guess is as good as mine, but I’m looking forward to either loving or hating it.
… more proof that MTV’s award show is heading right back to the dumpster after 2009 was shockingly good (and 2010 was so-so). P.S. If you are going to make this award, where the eff is "Run the World" and "We R Who We R"? I’m (half) joking about the latter.
I missed this one last week; it’s the Femme Fatale remix for Britney Spears’ “Till the World Ends” (her best song in years, which isn’t saying much) featuring Nicki Minaj and co-songwriter Ke$ha. The Minaj spot has spunk, but I’m not really sure what Ke$ha is doing there, except to emphasize the whole “femme” power thing that is loosely a “theme” of this album. Sidenote: I’m finding it impossible to write about Britney these days without lots of quotation marks and qualifiers.
I can’t decide if this LMFAO business is fun or Euro-trash? Are these things mutually exclusive? “Party Rock Anthem” is in the top ten in most every country (not the U.S. yet), so I guess it’s at least worth one listen (prolly only one, though). The elctro-hop duo is opening up for Ke$ha (as is Spank Rock) on her Get $leazy summer tour, which will be hitting Chicago on August 24 in what will surely be the, um, $kankiest dance party ever had at Northerly I$land. $ee all the $lutty detail$ below.
Is it terrible music video week? First Dre/Eminem, now this! I’ve gotta find us some quality jamming ASAP. Click the photo if you dare to be horrified by this new Ke$ha song and video, starring James Van Der Beek.
A Jam of the Day can be new or old, black or white, hard and fast like you in the club or slow and sweet like you're makin' love. There is only one rule: It must make you say, "Man, that's a JAM."
